PLANNED GIVING

You can support our work in Advancing Suicide Prevention® in a variety of ways, including through your estate. Including Advancing Suicide Prevention® in your estate plan can assist you in reaching and achieving your own philanthropic and charitable giving goals. It also allows us to continue our mission of advancing prevention of suicide in America.

We invite you to choose from a variety of charitable planned giving options. For instance, you can make a planned gift by naming Advancing Suicide Prevention® as a beneficiary of your last will and testament, life insurance policy or retirement plan. You can also name Advancing Suicide Prevention® as a beneficiary of a charitable trust. Your attorney or financial advisor can advise you of the types of charitable trusts, and assist in establishing a trust that meets your personal needs. Some of the above-mentioned planned giving strategies may have a greater tax benefit to you than others, so please consult with your attorney or financial advisor on which strategy would work best for you.

Below please find examples of specific language that you may use to name Advancing Suicide Prevention® as a beneficiary of your will, trust, life insurance policy, retirement assets or other contractual gift. If you, your attorney or financial advisor has questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Advancing Suicide Prevention® Development Department by calling 920-457-4033 or emailing us at plannedgiving@pdvfoundation.org.

Your broker can assist you in making a gift of stock via a direct transfer Advancing Suicide Prevention®. Giving a gift of publicly traded stock that has increased in value and that you have owned for more than one year may provide greater tax benefits than giving cash. Your charitable income tax deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock and you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock. You may also save by not incurring brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock.
